[xj] Engine horsepower ratings? » I was watching some videos tonight and realized that that according to Classic Gear number 5, the XK E-Type 3.8 litre 3 carbureted engine produced 265 horsepower. I remember reading that the Series 3 XJ engine, fuel injected, was about 195 horsepower. How is it that everyone talks about the engines being the same or better for the 4.2 litre, makes less power? Disregarding torque, does the later 80’s 4.2 make more power, (and/or more torque) than the older engines that were in the XK mo… Forums.jag-lovers.com

[xj] Xj6 engine swap » Hi, I have a SII XJ6 that used the old FI version. Unfortunately, the engine has serious problems which I won’t bore you with. I would like to upgrade the engine to something more modern without ‘‘lumping’’ it. Any suggestions? I have pulled the engine and trans on that car before. I know the XJ was only offered with the XK engine and v12 configurations so I’d like to stick with one of those engines. Anyone swapped a SII engine for a SIII? or v12 he??
