[v12-engine] fault codes » I’ve read lots of stuff about fault codes,but how do I find them? (Dumb question?) Does my 1986 v12 S3 provide them?Hope I’m not embarrassing myself. I’ve downloaded Kirby’s marvellous book, and bought a Mitchell CD manual (first try at on-line purchase, I found it just about completely useless, have ordered the JDHT ) and can’t find how to extract the codes.Searched archives too. [xj-s] Interesting Find About Radio Security Codes » During my transmission saga, the shop had left my battery disconnected for so long that the security code block cropped up when the battery was reconnected. I did not have the code # when I bought the car, so the shop had to remove the radio, get the serial #, call the local Jag dealership, and obtain the code from them. [xj-s] Radio Codes again » OK; who is the brilliant engineer who decided that a car radio has to have a security code? What kind of idiocy…sigh. Well, enough of the rant. I bought a 91 XJS convertible. It has all the books and records, including an original card for the radio code which is stated as 45222 - yes, that’s five digits. On this board, every reference is to a four-digit code. [xj-s] Engine Fault code and OBD reader » I am new to Jaguar. I have a nice 1993 Silver XJR-S. I stupidly turned the car on (to show off to friends) while the air cleaner assembly was disconnected. The car immediately threw FF15 engine fault code. As such, I need to clear it. However, I don’t know: 1) where the OBD reader is, and 2) what OBD reader to purchase in order to do so.
